What's the difference between WebReg and the Schedule of Classes?
Schedule of Classes is read-only — you use it to find courses and index numbers. WebReg is where you actually register. you need both but they do different things. SOC first, WebReg second.
What is an index number and why does it matter?
every section at Rutgers has a unique 5-digit index number. you type this directly into WebReg to register instead of searching. it's faster, it's more reliable, and during peak registration traffic when WebReg search is slow — it's the difference between getting the seat and watching it disappear while the search loads.
What happens if a class is full when I try to register?
you can't register for it manually right then — but the class isn't gone forever. seats open up constantly throughout the registration period as students drop, switch sections, and get dropped for billing issues. what you need is something watching those seats and getting you in the moment one opens. that's what

Is there a waitlist on WebReg?

billing holds, advising holds, immunization holds, and academic standing holds can all block you from registering entirely. check
